“Hello, is it me you’re looking for? I can see it in your eyes, I can see it in your smile.” Do you ever feel like busting out into some Lionel Richie! No? Just me? Well, that got awkward. Anyyyyyy who, I’m baaaaaaaack and I had so many stories to tell you, but I’ve been slacking and not writing my stories down in my notes, and as you know I have horrible memory. But trust me they were going to be epic and hilarious and all the magical things you could imagine. Never fear though because I do have a little story to tell you about a girl and a wedding.
Once upon a time there was a girl (let’s call her Emily) and she went to a wedding (let’s say it was yesterday). Emily danced all night, drank about the same amount as she danced (she also didn’t get drunk if you were wondering… I know I am just as surprised as you!). She basically had the best time ever with her friends! After this magical night where one of her close friends married the love of her life.
I’m telling you their love story is straight out of a fairytale. It’s one of the most beautiful things to witness from the beginning to their happily ever after. It’s stories like theirs that make you believe in true love and soulmates.
Ok ok back to the story. After this magical wedding Emily started thinking of her own future wedding. Emily always thought that she would just do a quick Vegas thing and just save the money for the most awesomeballz honeymoon ever! But now she finds herself thinking about who she would chose to be her bridesmaids, and that she might actually have her brother as man of honor and cousin as bridesman. She’s also thinking about the color scheme and venue and that she would like a beach, garden or vineyard venue. She might also have a Pinterest board full of wedding related things. Also she’s already decided on the song for her first dance with her future husband. ( La vie en rose by Edith Piaf)So moral of the story is I might actually want a wedding and all that jazz…and I can thank the newlyweds for that.
Ta ta for now!
Love Ya From The Moon and Back,
Emily ( first things first I need to find me some husband material candidates… I must go now)

I just saw my first ballet and it was Cinderella!!! I loved it! It was so beautiful and the colors of the costumes were magical. The best part is we had box seating!!! BOX SEATING!!! Yes we were one of those fancy people. I felt a little bit like Viv (Julia Roberts) from Pretty Woman minus the whole prostitution thing and the really rich handsome dude named Edward (Richard Gere). I went with my momma, I had bought these tickets for her birthday and she freaking loved it, Soooooo basically It’s a fact that I am her favorite child! YAAAASSSS!
If you ever want to go see a ballet I have a couple of tips for you:
1/2. The correct way to pronounce ballet is Baa Let… don’t let others steer you wrong… bwuhahahaha (this is my evil laugh… also I was too lazy to move the numbers around so that’s where the half came from).
1. You should probably dress a little fancy, like where the jeans The don’t have those rips on them. There were a lot of people in full blown gowns for this show. Meanwhile me and my mom are in jeans and a sweater thinking nobody is going to come that dressed up for a show at 3 o’clock in the afternoon!! We were WRONG!
2. Be prepared to spend roughly $21.15 actually $22.15 (I tipped a dollar I know i know I’m super generous) on two mini bottles of Sprite, a bag of skittles and Welch’s fruit snack (Horse manure!!!).
3. You will see lots of bulges (you know man parts in tights) and wedgies! WOW!!! That’s all I have to say!
4. You will leave there believing you can do all those moves just as beautifully, but you can’t Emily!!! You’re not properly trained so stop it or you will break your fucking toes, ankles, snap your Achilles basically anything that makes up your foot! Just stop it Emily!
5. Lastly be prepared for a lot of clapping!!! There is more clapping in ballet than in any sporting event. My arms and hands are sore from clapping so much. I’m surprised I can even type this right now!
Well there you go I hope these tips help anyone who wants to see a ballet!
Love Ya from the Moon and Back,
Emily ( future ballet star!! Nah never mind I don’t have the balance or grace for that!)
Omg!!! I have to say that I really enjoyed watching Grease Live last night… I know that there were changes from the original and believe me I know that freakin movie like the back of my hand, but I still loved watching it. The actors were amazing, they all had oh my Lort (Madea voice) awesomeballz voices. I’m just saying Julianne Hough was sooooo good as Sandy. When she sang “Hopelessly Devoted” I got chills and they were multiplying… Hehehe I cracks myself up. Speaking of who was super awesomeballz was freaking Vanessa Hudgens. She did phenomenal as Rizzo. Rizzo is my favorite and considering what she was going through emotionally she was fanfuckingtastic!!! I just don’t know how she was able to even get out of bed let alone have the performance she did. When she sang “There Are Worst Things” I was just sitting there watching her, and usually I’m singing along acting out the scene… Just so you have a clear idea of how transfixed I was. OMG and Boyz II Men people… Done!!!
Okay so you know (if you watched Grease Live last night) that it wasn’t an exactly like the Original Grease, which of course I knew it wouldn’t be, but there were a few things I wasn’t really into. One was the songs I didn’t know, and it had nothing to do with the people singing I thought Keke Palmer and Carly Rae Jepsen were great I just didn’t like their songs because I couldn’t sing along with them. The thing that did bother me was the dance moves!!! I get that it’s not going to be the same but at least the parts that everybody knows like in Grease Lightening and the Hand Jive those should have been incorporated into the new dance moves, I was waiting to dance with them. All in all I had fun watching and criticizing it, and I feel like everyone did a fantabulouso job!! I applaud you all because that had to be incredibly hard to do all of that live!! Well that’s all for me today…Till next time.
Love Ya from the Moon and Back,
Emily (just so you know I should’ve been apart of Grease Live I would’ve totally nailed it! Just saying.)
In the spirit of Thanksgiving all I’m going to do tonight is make a list of the things I am thankful for, we shall call this list Emily’s Thanksgiving of Thankfulness List ( I know I know your super jealous of how my incredibly creative mind works).
1. The most important thing I’m thankful for is obviously my Awesomeness. Although if it weren’t for my parents I guess I wouldn’t be this awesome. In that case I’m most definitely grateful for my mommy and daddy. Without their individual Awesomness none of my super duper Awesomeness would exist, and that would just be super sad.
2. I’m thankful for my brothers ( I consider my cousin my brother so this thanksgiving he has been upgraded… Your welcome Saca Moco) without those two mofos, my life would’ve been rather dull and boring. Making fun of them is what I live for and without them I would have to be nice and make actual friends I’m not related to.
3. I’m thankful for my friends/slutties/sisters/boysters(boy sisters) for just being funny, crazy, sarcastic psychopaths that accept and embrace their crazy, because if not you’ll get cut from the group and there’s no coming back from that. We’ve all seen that happen, so don’t mess shit up for your selves.
4. Lastly, Im thankful for my office (my bathroom) where I write most posts from. Without this bathroom there would be no Life As A Moon because this is where all my ideas finally become something I can write about.
In all seriousness without any of the people on my list I wouldn’t be the person I am today. I am truly thankful to have each and everyone of you in my life. Without any of you I wouldn’t have anyone to laugh, cry, make up choreography to 3LW, sing, act, direct, or even watch Dancing with the Stars with. I love you all from the bottom of my heart… Especially you bathroom.
Love Ya From the Moon and Back,
Emily ( Happy Thanksgiving to all and to all a goodnight… I know that’s for Christmas but I feel like it just goes)
It’s Adele’s album release day, and I might be way to inebriated to make anytype of sense tonight because I will be drinking my feelings. So I’ve decided to write to you this lovely morning and let you know what my Friday night/ Saturday morning will be looking like. Well before I get to the drinking part of my night I will be going to go see ALADDIN ON BROADWAY!!!! I’m so freaking excited I’ve been wanting to see this musical since it opened on Broadway! Aaaaaahhhhhh I can’t contain all this excitement! Not only am I going to see freaking Aladdin on Broadway Adeles album 25 comes out today to… I don’t know what to do with myself!!!! If I wasn’t sitting in my car typing this I would be doing a Chinese fire drill… For those who don’t know what this is, its when the car you are in stops at a red light and everyone gets out and runs around the car and then gets back in to their seats; it’s super fun people in the other cars just look at you like your on crack. So yeah that’s just a snippet of my excitement level.
As for Saturday I’ll be nursing a hangover while watching the Hunger Games Mocking Jay Part 2!!! It’s such an eventful weekend!!
Well I gotta go to work now bye.
Love Ya from the Moon and Back,
Emily ( ADELE!!!!)
I’ve come to the conclusion that I have a love/hate relationship with Manny Mandingo (that be my car). Some days I wonder in horror what kind of life would I live if I didn’t have Manny. While other times I wish he never existed. Why do I have so strong feelings about Manny I shall tell you in the form of a list (oh how I love to make lists).
The following are the reasons why I Love Manny:
1. Homeboy gets me places. Anywhere I want to go he got my back.
2. I love to randomly drive around with the windows down and the music blasting! I only like doing this when its night time and there aren’t a lot of cars in the streets. The less cars the less people judge me when I’m performing for my adoring fans!
3. I love to speed. I just get this rush when I’m going fast… I have moments where I think I’m in Need For Speed or GTA (Grand Theft Auto) and the cops are following me and I have to get away from them so the blinking stars on the top of my screen go away. Ooo good times.
4. Music just sounds better when your aimlessly driving. The only works when there is no one else in the car with you and your just strolling around town and your connecting with the music because at that moment iHeart just knows how your feeling and they put that song that makes you feel things and your just like “Damn iHeart you know me so well it’s like your in my soul.”
5. When I need a place to be by myself and just work my shit out I know I can trust Manny to listen to me either cry, talk shit about my friends or whine about my parents. Manny just understands me like nobody else. The best part is when I’m talking to him nobody really judges me because they probably think I’m just animatedly talking on the phone… Well I hope that’s what they’re thinking.
The following are the reasons I Hate Manny:
1. This mofo makes me pay for his loyalty and friendship monthly!
2. On top of having to pay for him to stay around this mofo expects me to feed him as well. It might only be like once a week, but damn I’m like paying at least thirty bucks to make sure he’s full and sometimes that’s not even enough!
3. Driving when a lot of other people are on the road and being stuck in traffic… Sucks AssCakes!!
4. This thing is like a child not only do I need to feed it, but I also have to give this mofo a bath! Like my laundry I pay for someone else to do it for me.
5. I have very bad road rage because of him and other people! I’ve realized once I started driving I hated people with faces! I have very bad anger/hatred issues because of Manny!
Even after all the crap Manny puts me through I love him more than I hate him, because without my car I wouldn’t be able to get to work, go to the movie theatre, or even go on fun road trips. I love you Manny Mandigo I swear one of these days I’ll get you some gas and take you to get washed… Hopefully sometime this week, you know how lazy I get!
Love Ya from the Moon and Back,
Emily ( I’ve become extra lazy, but that’s not only Mannys fault… That just started happening after I got my license and has just become worse because of Manny and Hammy Mocha Baby (my first car).
I know it’s technically Saturday but it’s still Friday night for me!!! I know I know this is two nights in one week that I’m acting my age. Idk what’s gotten into me… I’m a freaking party animal!!!!
Sooo totes had a Roooooooad TRIP today!!! Well kinda we’re just down the shore for the night, but it’s still a road trip especially because there was some traffic and I decided ,thinking I was some kind of GPS, I would be able to find a way around it. Well we did find a way but it ended up being a tour of most of central/southernish NJ. So instead of the hour and a half it ended up being about a four hour trip. So yea I consider that a road trip!
After we finally got here, we went to a bar where I drank some amoretto sours ( so it’s more like Amoretto Saturday). I know it’s not Vino, but this is my go to drink when I got out… I just couldn’t give it up. Any way we went to a bar in Long Beach Island (LBI), and I saw my first live cover band and it was AMAZEBALLZ!!!!!! Okay it’s time for me to go now I’m about to eat some CHICKEN AND WAFFLES!!! Another first for me!!! I’m popping so many cherries tonight!
Love Ya from the Moon and Back,
Emily (question: Did the Chicken come before the Egg?… The place I’m eating at is called The Chicken or The Egg. Im so freakin clever)
Some pretty amazing things happened this weekend. Well first off I got to see my sister. Which I haven’t seen in I would say over 10 years. Oh my word Emily, what do you mean you haven’t seen your sister in over 10 years? That was how I feel everyone reacted to my little announcement. Anyway there’s no crazy scandalous reason, I wish there was though I feel it would make for a great Telanovela (Soap Opera), as I was saying I haven’t seen her because she lives in Puerto Rico. So you can understand why it’s been difficult for my brother and I to see her more often.
Now the best part, you know not that seeing my sister was great… But I finally got to meet my two beautiful nieces!!!! I don’t know about my brother, but I’m freaking obsessed with these two girls! The eldest one is 5 and my brother says she reminds him of me, because when I was her age I was running around like a crazy person just like her. For me she reminds me of Papa Moon , because this little girl has this mean stank face that is identical to my Daddios, but she is the freaking cutest thing ever! The younger one is 3, and she so much like my brother it’s kind of freaking. She’s really chill and just goes along with what her big sister does, just like my brother… Well not the following his sister around, but he was the calm one between us two, and the freakiest thing is she looks a little like him too. If I were to get one of my brother baby pictures and put long hair in him they would look identical.
The craziest thing about this is that I freaking love these two girls soooo much and I just met them. I now understand how love at first sight works, because these little nuggets, my little nieces have captured my heart and already have me wrapped around their little fingers. I just spent a good hour letting the older one (my mini me) paint my nails, aka my whole finger, with bright pink nail polish! I think she did a fabulous job! Well, that’s all I have for today.
Love Ya from the Moon and Back,
Emily ( I gotta go shop for some amazing things for my little nuggets, so they can love me more than my brother)
Ps. They called me Tia (aunt) today, and inside I sobbed and did my happy dance at the same time… BEST. DAY. EVER!
This week has been a throw back week for me! It all started on Sunday with my brother (Snot Rocket) and my cousins ( I wanted to name one alcoholic, but that’s not right… Being a drinker is just in the Moon blood…not one person can be singled out). So I shall name them… Queen Bee, Trap Queen and Harry Queen of the Potters… These three might or might not be siblings, I’m not telling. Any way on Sunday my cousins came by and we spent the majority of the day jamming to 90s R&B. When I say jamming I literally (must be said with British accent) mean we had the best performances ever!!! EVER!!! We freaking brought the house down! I’m pretty sure my neighbors hated us… We were singing at the top of our lungs and NAILING IT!! You see us Moons love music… We especially love R&B and when you put 5 Moons in one place listening to Usher tell Chili that she got it she got it back… Shit gon get real! And my friends it did. Me and Trap Queen battled it out as Monica and Brandy singing to that Boy is Mine. Oh and did I mention that there was alcohol involved… If you know my family you can just disregard that last sentence cuz…. HELLUR of course there was alcohol! We’re Moons for a reason!
So yea we got real turnt up ( I feel like I’m not gangsta enough to say Turnt)!
As I told you guys in Monday I went to the NKOTB concert… YOU KNOW, that was super throw back because I didn’t even know they’re songs!
But yesterday and today I’ve been listening to everything I listened to back when I was in grammar school, meaning NSYNC… And Disney Musicals!!! You know what’s crazy, is that I haven’t listened to these songs in the LONGEST time… Well mostly NSYNC, because I can’t lie I listen to Childhood Classics on iHeart at least once a week and that all consist of The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, Pochahontas basically all the beast Disney movies.
As I was saying I haven’t listen to NSYNC in a long time, and it’s crazy as soon as the songs come on I instantly remember all the lyrics. If you were to ask me to sing you Tearin Up My Heart a-cappella I would probably only be able to sing the chorus. But you put that song on and I’ll sing the hell out of that song and it would make you think I wrote that shit. What I want to know is why this amazing memory for lyrics (from songs that I listened to from when I was 7 till like I was 12) can easily pop into my head… But ask me a question about something I just learned can’t be found anywhere in my brain. I think my brain was meant to just remember lyrics and movie quotes… Maybe I should sing everything I want my self to remember, and it might work. It’s been AMAZEBALLZ… As the best boy bad EVER would say… BYE BYE BYE!
Love Ya from the Moon and Back,
Emily ( NSYNC is better than the Backstreet Boys)
Ps. I almost killed my waiter for putting two lemons in my water and only putting one in Sluttie McSluttersons water… I HATE LEMON IN MY WATER!!! It’s a freaking conspiracy, they were plotting against me I know it!
Holy sweet heavenly goodness in a glass of AWESOME!!! This wine is sooooo freaking AMAZEBALLZ, I thinks I just fell in LURVE!! I’m so In love right now that I’m just gonna sing for you!!! “Im in love with the VI-NO, Vi-no, I got for the Low low( must be sung in that I’m in love with the CoCo way)… Got me looking so crazy right now this WINE got me looking so crazy right now… This WINE is on FIIIIIYAAAAH… This wine is on Fiiiiyaaaaaah… I am in love with you, You set me free, I can’t do this thing call drinking with out you here with me… Hey delicious Vino let me whisper in your ear, tell you some things you might like to hear… Tonight I’ll be your naughty girl, I’m not calling any of my girls cuz I want you to myself, because your so delicious.” This medley is dedicated to Barefoots Rosa Red Blend!!! I just want to say I’ve never met a wine that just knows me like you do… Your my wine soulmate/bottle. I’d like to take this time to thank: the guy who raps that CoCo song (sorry I don’t know your name), Alicia Keys, the Ying Yang Twins and of course Beyoncé for those wonderful renditions, Rosa Red Blend and I thank you very much.
Sorry I got carried away, but I’m telling you this wine is sooooo good!!! It’s sweet but not to sweet ( like I likes it… I was trying to think of something naughty to say but it didn’t make any sense) and the best part it’s bubble-y toooooooo ( I put extra Os because I’m not sure if it’s this to or this too… So I make it extra!!!).
I was totally gonna write something else, but I’m so in love right now I don’t want to ruin the moment, and I also might have forgotten what I was gonna write.
Ooo okay so today… I took another quiz!!!! You just know that “these are a few of my favorite things” ( brief cameo from Julie Andrews… The goddess I pray to, as Fräulein Mary from The Sound of Music). As I was saying, taking quizzes is my favorite thing to do in the world… Besides drinking this Vino. Today’s quiz was, What is your southern name? When I saw this I was like HECK FREAKING YEAH I NEED TO KNOW WHAT MY SOUTHERN NAME IS!!! It’s as amazing as I thought it would be. My southern name is Savannah Summers. I just freaking love it!! The best thing about this was that my mom actually wanted to name me Summer. Just in case you don’t remember I’m Hispanic, Dominican to be exact… Yes I might be the most Americanized Dominican I’ve ever met, but I still think Summer would’ve pushed me over the edge. But I do love it as my southern last name it just flows… I wanna say this was the Gods and Goddesses of Mount Olympus’s way of letting me know that Summer is destined to be apart of me. Well it’s time for me to go have a romantic evening with my vino… I’m going to need a do not disturb sign!
Love Ya from the Moon and Back,
Emily ( but you can call me lover of Rose Red Blend, or Savannah Summers. Whatever tickles your pickle)
